How Can I Love You? Poem by VIPINS PUTHOORAN

How Can I Love You?

Rating: 5.0

Wide as the sky was my heart,
Where I found a light all above;
When I devot'd myself for an emerald dove-
Burnig my soul in the furnace of pain apart,
Where I was hoverin' in dawn and dusk
To follow you e'erywhere like your shadow,
Alone; o'er the hill and o'er the meadow;
With my sunlit eyes that was always brisk.
If, the worst arrows of sorrow you lanced,
Unto my silent dreams and you danced,
O'er the bosom of my herat's coral island,
Pouring the embers of anger in its sand
As a blooming flower holdin' all its pride,
Once I waited to embrace you as my bride,
Or as a breeze to caress you so coyly
But you wounded me so mercilessly,
Sent my noble dreams in pilgrimage,
And forsook my heart's hive as sewage.
Oh! all this way how can I enshrine,
You as the godess of my heart's shrine,
To pacify the waves of my heart's brine?
When many nymphs tempted me to crown-
Them as the godesses' of my soul's palace;
When many of them wanted to drown,
In my sea of love to adorn that holy place
Lo, the Poseidon may be loving the Amphitrite
But a dead man never be in love with a sprite..

Wonderfully written! Love gives so much pains to the yearner....the waiting is long....but the results is inevitably expected...If the love's desire is not worth the waiting, Vipins? A poem of a great emotion, keep the reader in a suspended state....Thanks for this deliciously shared ouvre d'art French for work of art) .
