How Do You Think You Did Poem by Reshad Scott

How Do You Think You Did

If you were to replay his life
and watch every second
from to start to finish
how would you think he did?

If it was only just a simple tale
Or a small piece of paper with only one sentence
would you think of him any different?

If he were to live his life to become,
maybe say a gamer, an athlete, or singer
would that justify the person in which he has never taken truth to?
Or is it just the path he has taken in which society thinks he belongs to?

He lives a story
but who is the one telling it?
He lives a life
but who is the one living it?

The less he knew, the less he saw
and the more he knew, the more he wanted to seek out,
but that's not what matters most.

What matters most is things he did
in the shadows, or the things he did while you were away.
The risk he took, the things he did
just to make his life a little bit better;
and now those things will die with him
forever in the unknown.

He was never seen as he truly was
and now he doesn't only have one story to tell,
but two.
If he were to replay his life
and watch every second
from start to finish
how would he think he did?

No one would know except for him.

But most importantly
if you were given the chance to replay your life
and see every option and choice you could have taken
to see the truth, the purpose in which your life was truly meant to be
how would you feel?
how would you react?
