How I Wrote My Poem. Poem by NITHEESH ANNADANAM

How I Wrote My Poem.

As I hold my pen between my fingers
and place it on the paper before me,
Several thoughts fly through my mind
writing a poem is tough, you see!

What should I write about?
What should I?
I was able to do nothing
Now should I cry?

I bang my head against the wall
I nibble the end of my pen,
I clutch my hair and pluck them hard
I run around damaging my 'den'

I was being troubled
yes, a lot!
I begged the Lord, Almighty
to give me a thought!

At last, God looked at me
and took some pity
he then blessed me
with some creativity

A new thought then
started creeping into me
I stood up alert
begging it not to flee

My thought was fragile
I had to write it away
my mind would forget it
at the slightest sway!

I picked up my pen
and sat on the floor
When I was about to start,
someone BANGED the door! ! !

SNAP! my thought flew away
I held my head in despair,
A Salesman grinned through the window and asked-
'SIR! A Trimmer to trim your hair? ? '

I love the humor in this well thought piece! Funny how some can write so easily and then others like myself, can take weeks to write a piece to my own satisfaction. Nicely done!
