How Many Bibles Did I Share? Poem by Denis Martindale

How Many Bibles Did I Share?

How many Bibles did I share before I passed away,
Before that time and final prayer upon that fateful day?
Before my loved ones faced distress and I lost my last breath,
How many people did I bless before God viewed my death?

How many lives did I improve before God's time marched on,
Before God made my spirit move, my time on Earth then gone?
How many lost souls did I reach before I reached no more,
Before I lost the chance to preach and teach and thus restore?

The Father's Son came from above to be both seen and heard
As Jesus Christ, the King of Love and Saviour in God's Word.
How many Bibles did I share before I passed away?
Dear friends, I could not leave it there! No wonder I still pray!

Yes, this I pray, that from my will, God grants a great release,
Bestowing Bibles that can thrill a multitude to please.
This legacy is all I leave, the Word of God to share,
With thousands more who might receive the mighty Lord through prayer.
