How Marvellous... Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

How Marvellous...

How marvellous it is to see the vagrant clouds
Conquer the tall mountains that stand eternally proud.
Or to see a gorgeous waterfall
Cascade down the mountain slope and make its landfall.
To sight those beautiful flowers that dot the bed
Of a meandering river that has through diverse terrain tread.
To see cattle graze leisurely in the meadows
Before the sun could set and the night cast its dark shadows.
To see the mighty ocean incessantly rave
And in the process spew awesome waves.
But all these wondrous gifts of nature one can well appreciate
If he is not a hapless vagabond as decreed by fate.

Thanks Rajnish Ji for reviewing the poem and for your thoughtful comments. A homeless man may find it difficult to appreciate nature though he may be living in the nature's lap.

You have drawn pictures of a fascinating nature in all its diversity- How Marvellous! ! But, all is right if there are no vagrant people around. The poen has an emotional ending- worth a thought. Thanks. But all these wondrous gifts of nature one can well appreciate If he is not a hapless vagabond as decreed by fate.
