How Men Die Poem by Saviour Micheal

How Men Die

HOW MEN DIE

how men die lies in the uterus of old testament when his eyes blink red lights in reverse
Duty crave to kiss his wife's hand and take a leave and family carve lamentation into songs, eyes drop water into a container and a little floods assemble on the slab
His prayer points are in jest on the chest of her 9years daughter whose fallen breast is a sorrowful song on his lone grave
How do we read the words " sun set at noon" on the tongue of a weaver bird? I don't know maybe if we were born with plastic foot...

How do men die?
When a king's daughter demand my head as her choice
When i dwelled in an hundred years in solitude without a child
When we walked down our lives in the bush of ghost for hidden treasure
When a dwarf stole my gun in search of animal for my fathers blessing
When we walked with strength buried in the womb of weakness
Whe a lonely heart tight on a leg of tree and sing with crack lips

Papa! I know you are still a stranger holding the map of heaven and hell, come and weave me that old story, how men die trying to protect unity from the blade of tribal war, how death visit men from the fist of KWAZIOKOR and swollen corpse a metaphor of fallen petals

Papa! How men die blind mortal eyes and a growing stems by the blood of hero's past is a mutuallity of life and death
When i no longer see the fallen rain
When my earthly pleasure is a lost market
When all my sense organs are inactive
When ambulance parade me with last honour
When maggots dine on my body
and my name printed in italic forms on my coffin
When they finally declare me
to rest in peace
Dust to dust
Departed soul
Haunted dreams
And our stream of togetherness
dried amidst the bygone shadow
of fading star
How men die is a mystery
