How Salvation Works Poem by Randy McClave

When the Apostle Paul entered into Heaven
He wasn't a disciple with the eleven,
A sinful man he was once known as and chartered
But, he entered to the cheers of those he martyred.
He once was a very sinful and a unGodly man
Destroying Christianity was his job, his plan,
Without pain or sorrow or remorse or any regret
He smiled and held the cloaks as they stoned Stephen to death.
Then Jesus he saw and unto his voice he did listen
Then Saul became Paul becoming a Christian,
A sinful man he truly once was
Now instead of hate, his heart then was full of salvation and love.
See that sinful person standing way over there
To which you give no smile, hope or even care,
Curses and insults and damnation to him you call
Who knows, your name might also be Saul.
That persons lifestyle you might vehemently object
Love and help for them you always reject,
Then as you pick up a stone to throw
You hear a voice or see a vision of salvation telling you, "no! ".
The devil will close your eyes and shut your ear
So, you'll know what he wants you to see and hear,
Then when hate, prejudice and racism you are seeking
That's the devil showing and speaking.
The devil don't want you to turn the other cheek
Truth and forgiveness he doesn't want you to seek,
Whatever other people does
He wants you to speak hate and not forgiveness and love.
Before that first stone that you ever toss
Or before the first nail that you hammer into the cross,
Before you hold onto others jackets and coats
Remember, what the Devil promises and promotes.
That person might not follow on how you believe
Maybe the devil caused the heart to lie and to deceive,
But, with love, peace and forgiveness and Jesus as the perks
Remember, that is how salvation works.
