How The Stars Were Ghostly Hung Poem by Mark Heathcote

How The Stars Were Ghostly Hung

I never knew until you kissed me.
I could feel so vulnerable or so sensitive.
It came in an instant the fear of losing you
I never knew I could feel so happy.

I'd wonder what I ever did to deserve you.
I never knew from that moment on.
I would love only you.
At least that's what I thought until
You disposed of me like I was only household waste.

I never knew from that moment on.
I'd measure every other love by you.
I never knew until you kissed me.
How the stars were ghostly hung
How the world revolved, and even though
It violently spun never did it do so.
By letting me go.
