How To Drink Poem by mifael llauderes

How To Drink

Imagine: cool water
Incessantly pouring down
A creek in its utter limpidness…

And into a parched esophagus

Descending to a heart
Long restless… to wash away
The tangles of old trash
In a cascade sinuous

Instead of a humdrum
Beating and pulsing sound
One hears a stirring swill
Of a flowing water swirling

Flushing away the sod
Out into the excretory system
