Nothing is ever impossible,
Always bear that in mind.
In the world of poetry,
The answers you will find.
What to think up?
Simply where to start?
Take your time,
And don't lose heart.
Poems are stories,
Stories to write.
Just words on paper,
Black on white.
Poems are everywhere,
No big surprise.
Just look around,
To find your prize.
Write about anything,
Stormy seas, quiet streams.
Candyfloss and kittens,
Nightmares or dreams.
Pen and paper ready,
Maybe a comfy chair.
Under a leafy tree,
Doesn't matter where.
Just gaze around,
Set your mind free.
Write a few lines
On what you see.
With your notes,
These you can nurse.
To nurture some lines,
That becomes a verse.
Your very first poem,
Doesn't have to rhyme.
Who knows what surprises,
Await you second time...
