How Would Your World React? Poem by Caleb Adegbite

How Would Your World React?

when time comes and you are gone
How would the People act
when for you all is done
would they shake their heads in pity
or declare a public holiday in the city?
would they breath a sigh of relief
or start sheding tears of grief?
would they dance,
would they sing,
would they party,
would they merry?
Would they fight,
would they quarrel
on clothes to wear
and where to bury?
Would they gather to read your will and share your inheritance
or with great respect, would they uphold your heritage
would they gaze at the sky for falling stars in the night
Or would it end when the wax runs out on your candlenight?
will the one minute silence be all that it would take
or would it end at the burial, a day after your wake.
