How You Had Me At A Glance Poem by Mark Heathcote

How You Had Me At A Glance

Okay, it's not a combo mix.
But it awakens every molecule beneath my ribs.
With your nipped-in waist
With that black figure-hugging skirt
And that scallop low-cut top
And an off-the-shoulder jacket.

Fantastic hip's
Black Finger Nail Polish
Well-proportioned breasts
Red hair and ruby-red lips
What is not to like about you?
If you were not a living doll.

I'd have to canonize your literary talents.
Your artistic works.
How you had me at a glance
And stole all my poetic words.
But instead, I'm left here wondering
How might I get you into bed?

Couplet a phrase or two together
And turn your head.
Because it's been whispered
It's been blurted in a builder's whistle!
You are strikingly sexy.
You exude what they call va-va-voom.
