D'innombrables moururent,
Et des meilleurs, parmi eux,
Pour une vieille catin aux dents caries,
Pour une civilisation ravandee,

Du charme, en souriant a la bonne bouche,
Des yeux vifs enterres sous le couvercle de la terre,

Pour deux vingtaines de statues cassees,
Pour quelques milliers de livres uses.

Bright eyes and smiling faces were buried under Earth and this was so sad to hear. Death of countless criticizes the time of war. This poem is also very thought provoking. An amazing and perfect translation is presented...10
