Human Life Poem by Randy McClave

Human Life

As I hear the racist chant
Screaming we should kick those foreigners out,
Because, being like us they can't
So, racism and bigotry they curse and shout.
Their skin coloring is different than there's
And they all speak broken English,
And they pray different type of prayers
Their looks and language doesn't make them distinguish.
They hate that couple down the block
Even though they never cause anyone no harm,
Because, they are not a member of their flock
And on their forehead they wear a charm.
They hate that other family because they are Asian
They don't believe the way that we do,
And they act different than the Caucasian
Remember, how they hated us in World War 2.
As long as I have been here
And I had my salvation and choices and my druther,
The Lord Jesus never once whispered in my ear
That one kind of human life was worth more than another.
