Human, Man Poem by Randy McClave

Human, Man

Rating: 4.0

I too am allowed to take time to process and heal
To once again look in a mirror and feel,
To once again sing and feel my happy song
While knowing soulfully, that I did nothing wrong.
I am allowed to rebuild whatever they left broken inside
And yes, I too must sometimes runaway and hide,
To feel what I must feel is most certainly allowed
With or without ever wearing a shroud.
I don't want to be seen under a different light
I am still who I was under God's mighty sight,
But, now I am hurt and confused and my feelings mixed
I just need and want to be healed, and then fixed.
I am not weak, that fact you and the world does know
But, those demons I must first confront before letting go,
I am a human, and I rationalize the best that I can;
I am man.
