That it used to be popular happens to be so
But going back the Seasons this seems long ago
Most things in life never does seem to last
Humility nowadays is a thing of the past

Promotion of self it is now an in thing
So many their own praises only too willing to sing
Suppose to their warped sense ofhigher self they are only being true
Though their sort seldom give credit to where it is due

Are these the people we ought to admire
Who of singing their own praises never seem to tire
They like to tell others of how marvellous they are
Of how on the corporate ladder they have climbed far

Give me the person who does not compete
With others for the title of best of the street
Nowadays the humble are so very few
And this is not saying anything that is new

It is a sad thing for to have to say
That the humble are overlooked in the Human World of today
Of those into promotion of self far too many indeed
And of more of the down to earth sort we are of in need.
