Hunger Poem by Robert Melliard

Hunger

Nature programmes used to be quite pretty:
the scenery; the grace; the untamed beauty...

More recently, they seem to concentrate
on eating: lions tear up antelopes;
crocodiles grab baby gnus;
spiders gobble insects; ants devour fat grubs;
constrictors strangle anything that moves.

It may be highly educational,
but all this tends to put me off my food!
