Hungry Souls Poem by Madrason .

Hungry Souls

What leads to despair
is which seems beyond repair
no fixed outer goal
an aching inner soul
that little human touch
which hungers far too much
a thirsty philanthropist
still riding in the mist
amidst and though success
that unforgiving stress
which cries for salvation
the inner condemnation
astray from happiness
a dog without a bone
a loneliness alone
just wiggling for a pat
his eyes drowsy and sad
but when he's recognised
Oh God, you'll be surprised;
but when he's recognised
Oh Lord, you'll be surprised! M
