Hypocrite Poem by Pieter van Wyk

Hypocrite

Have you the audacity to teach
But not to practice what you preach
You build your kingdom on words
So that all around you become caged birds

You cut the wings of those who fly free
You burn us to the highest degree
You speak without thought
Because that's the way you were taught

You are vile and venomous
You use poison to make you victorious
You are a bully, you beat us down
Our defeat you wear as a crown

Until our eyes are opened once again
Then our freedom will sustain
These chains that binds us will break
You will lose more than what you take

I will no longer listen to your lies
I will never pity your pathetic cries
Fool me once shame on you
Fool me twice and I'll regret it too
