I Am Humanity Poem by Vera Sidhwa

I Am Humanity

I Am Humanity

The wars started galore.
One began, then another one too.
It seemed we as humanity had nothing better to do.
But I was humanity too.

I never started a war
But on TV watched the fight.
They fired at each other noon and night
To no avail because no one ever won.
The one who came home included the wounded one.

I never saw war accept on TV.
But I was part of humanity.
The soldiers reflected me as such.
But winning to me never meant so much.
