I Am Not Alone In The Wilderness Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Am Not Alone In The Wilderness

I am not alone in the wilderness;
I am not alone in the habitations;
I am not lost in ignorance;
I am not lost in temptations;
I am treading the path,
Going to you;
I am tempted by hopes,
For your mercy;

My eyes dare to look up to your beauty;
My steps swift to walk into your light;
Yes, I am worthy to be in your presence;
My sincere love is my passport;

And yet I pray for your refuge;
I pray you to lift veils off my heart's eyes;
I pray you to and show me your reality,
Through your real beauties;

Though I am the law-abiding servant,
I ask for your forgiveness;
All I have done was for your pleasure;
Selfless actions and your remembrance!

You lead me to Your kind presence,
And yet I pray for your protection;
May never greed and avarice bind me!
Heavenly desire is all that I have sought;
I am nothing but empty and sounding clay;
I aspire to be what I should have been,
If I followed the ancient covenant;

Through all the evils of the world,
And through my every wrong doing,
Pray, hold my hands and lift me up;
Your embrace as that of a mother,
Holding tightly her child to her chest!
Your hugs gentle and soft!

You created me from your command Be,
Because you wanted me to be your lover;
My heart of stone you turned in your harp;
My delusion and illusion you wash away by your music;
My sight of soul you restore to see your beauty;

All thanks to your love!
To your grace and your glory!
There is no one else but you, my Lord!
You are my life!
Who can cause me death?
All that I am is your manifestation!
All that I am is what you willed!
