I am positively fighting to remain stationless.
But at my core, I sometimes feel dead.
Like a clock that no longer ticks.
It feels safe if there is no more blood
To squeeze from the stone
And my heart is a pressed flower in a book.
A book written in a midnight hour
No -longer visited, its spine never bent open.
Now it's ignored by someone who seems bored.
But even a stopped clock can be right
More than once a day
So, I positively fight to write a poem.
To say I'm not all alone,
But at my core, I sometimes feel dead.
Like a clock that no longer ticks.
So, I scratch my head.
And I hope this life hasn't yet passed its watershed.
And at the centre of your heart, I'm a star.
That lights up the dark.
Because I once had a friend
Who never wavered or gave me up for dust.
