I Can Glue Pearls To My Neck If I Wanted To Poem by Angelica Ortiz

I Can Glue Pearls To My Neck If I Wanted To

I can glue pearls to my neck if I wanted to
And sit with Sorrow for hours and hours
Talking about how much of a mess I can be
Or I can rip it off my skin...bits by bits
And just go on like nothing happened.

I'll be bleeding though
And it may leave a scar with many stories to tell.

It's however you want it
For us to just go about without a notice or remembrance
Or put myself low with all the pathetic we can throw.

I can glue the pearls to my neck if I wanted to...
Or I can wrap myself with shiny rubies and gold

It all depends on how you look at it
Or how wise your decision is made.

Either way we go, it'll be another scar added to the collection.

The only difference is
Is to whether to cut me inside or out.

However you want it
I am prepared in all forms of way,
Are you?
Don't complicate yourself, it's a choice I’m not bothered.

With all the pathetic I am thrown, I am not the one who's going to be that affected by it.

I can glue pearls to my neck if I wanted to...
Or I can take away your choices and just have you sit there and really pay attention...

Maybe you should take off your glasses so you can see things clearer and together lets make a compromise

It's all about choices. We can decorate our outer self but it will never expose the inner being. Who ever we want to impress, it should be ourselves first.
