I Can't Take This Poem by Harry Collins

I Can't Take This

Rating: 4.7

It’s like a big storm
has taken over your body.
The world is grey.
Nothing is fun any more.

All I wanna do is lay here,
and do nothing.
I can’t do anything.
I won’t do anything.
I have no fu**ing energy
to do anything.

I’m so sorry.
I can’t do this any more
I can’t take it.

I'm supposed to be
enjoying myself.
I'm supposed to
be out with My friends…
What friends?
I don’t have any.
I’m just a lonely depressed
teen who wants to die,
Who would wanna be friends with
someone like me.

people say, just be happy.
Get over it.
But I can't because I want to die.

I'm so sorry
I can't do this
I can't take this.

People don't understand what it's like.
They don't understand why I want to die
The hardest part is explaining it.
over and over again.

Depiction, anxiety, and the deplorable condition of life at its lowest ebb is well depicted in the poem. A good piece of poetry insightfully penned with conviction. Thanks for sharing Harry. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

'people say, just be happy. Get over it. But I can't because I want to die.' As a man who is being diagnosed with major depression and anxiety, I can feel this poem Harry.. People say 'you are just sad', 'get over it', 'cheer up' etc. As if we - who are depressed - choose this by our own will... Thank you very much for this poem.. It really touched my heart.. And, maybe it would mean nothing, as it had meant nothing to me when people said this, but still - Hang in their buddy - this too shall pass... Blessings and good luck.. Thank you..
