I Cloned Someone Poem by Ramona Thompson

I Cloned Someone

Parody of the classic Cher song I Found Someone

Don't you know
So many things to change in the future of this world
Like these words that I swear are true
Rather you believe me or not
This is the discovery that I made today
In the thunder, the wind and the rain
Talkin' about bringing new life
Into another pair of my own eyes
But you all laughed at me
Took my research funds away when I needed them the most

Now, believe me, believe me baby
I cloned someone
To take away your doubts
To gain my genius your respect
I've been stem cell researching
On my own
Since you fired me
Since you fired me
Called me a quack
Now we'll see
Who gets the last laugh

Stop your lies
I never could bear to hear them
Someday my amazing mind will shine through
Show you that I knew
Things you never did
Things you refused to learn and see
Oh baby on that night of thunder, wind and rain
Would you ever admit that I did it first?
Shot the fire of a new life into
Another set of my own eyes
You're laughing at me
Cos you still can't believe

Now, believe me, believe me baby
I cloned someone
To take away your doubts
To gain my genius your respect
I've been stem cell researching
On my own
Since you fired me
Since you fired me
Called me a quack
Now we'll see
Who gets the last laugh

REPEAT BRIDGE

Too long on the unemployment line
Wonderin' if respect and fame would ever be mine
When you laughed at me with such glee
It was then that I realized

CHORUS
