I Could Give You That Poem by Susan Cook

I Could Give You That

Rating: 4.5

I could give you what we both knew possible:

To be known by another, uncovered in each others presence,
To float on by with the passage of time, content in our nothingness,
To be still, like the fishes, eyes open clear and present,
To feel each others souls and dare to bare witness.

I could give you what we both thought was our path:
To ask nothing of you
To speak worlds from our hearts
To cherish our essence and capture moments of truth to explore.

I could give you the happiness you imagined and knew was possible.

I could give you that,

If the time was right.
