It was in the summer
When the sun was high
Sitting in the shade of a tree
I could hear her sigh
I could hear her sigh
For she was in great pain
She was in deep love and her
Love had gone in vain
Her love had gone in vain
And she wished to die
Sitting in the shade of a tree
I could hear her sigh
I could hear her sigh
One day her sigh did end
In heaven she met the man
Who was her lover and friend
