I Could Tell You Poem by Randy McClave

I Could Tell You

I could tell you her name,
But, I will not,
I want no one else to chase her
This woman I've sought.
And if anyone asks for her to be revealed;
My lips are sealed.

I could tell you about her eyes
But, I don't think so,
They are both of two beautiful universes
That the heart does know.
And if someone asks me to show them that light;
I will keep quiet.

I could tell you about her smile
But, I won't,
If you asked me could a man paint it
I will say no, and don't.
A masterpiece can never be truly copied;
And true beauty can never be embodied.

I could tell you more about her beauty
But, I can't
As a poet only has his words
So, we must write, plead and rant.
Helen of Troy launched a thousand ships;
But, she inspired poems of a thousand trips.

I could tell you more about her
But, I wouldn't
She's my own little secret and desire
So, soulfully I couldn't.
She's the dream which has finally come true;
So, that is all that I could tell you.
