I Cry Poem by Abubakar Ahmed Imam

I know I must not ask why
for every soul has a term fixed to die
So, with all the man in me I try
To fight my tears and say goodbye
But the pain manifests in my every eye
And by your gaveside I stand and cry

Through dirge and requiem I cry
I cry like a baby bereft of lullaby
I cry till in pity angels sigh
Stop I can't till my tears rise high
To drown even the creatures that fly
To reach all peaks and above the sky

I cry again and yet again I cry
For every bit of my memory it's you and I
And to think that your days have passed by
I cry cos to your arms I say goodbye
And to the smile in which folds of love lie
i cry...forevermore I cry
