I Cry Poem by Irma Goo

I Cry

My eye is lined
As red and as pink
As the inner eye
That you find
On the brink
Of my thigh

My eye is loose
As wet and as strong
As the lakes
Fluid as
Rivers and ponds

Life goes on

My lip is shaking
Like
Tremors
Signifying
The earth
This body
Is breaking

My throat is stuck

Silence abrupt

Enough

I can't speak
This heat
from within
Has harassed and beat
I erupt
Like the volcano brim

Enough

Life goes on
