I Didn't Know - Poem by Dorsey Baker

Love might have
passed me
so many times
when I was deaf
when I was blind
when I just didn't know
when I just didn't know
when I was looking
the other way
or thinking some thought

it could have been
standing
right before my eyes
it could have
been in a voice
that I never
overheard
the howling of the wind
or the song of a bird
I could have let it
pass me by
just thinking it was
something else
but I didn't know
I just didn't know
