I Dislike The Nights Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

I Dislike The Nights

They stretch endlessly,
a canvas for my thoughts
to paint the same picture,
again and again.

I forgave you,
or at least I told myself I did.
But forgiveness is hollow
when trust lies shattered,
its pieces cutting me in the dark.

My mind will not rest;
it replays the moment,
the choice you made,
the betrayel that lingers
like a shadow I cannot escape.

I wish for silence,
but the questions are louder.
Wat if? Why?
And the worst one of all:
Will it happen again?

Sleep becomes a stranger,
and the night becomes a mirror,
showing me all I fear to see.
I forgave you,
but my heart still doubts,
and my nights remain restless.
