I Do Not Find Inspiration In Sadness Poem by Bridget Sipher

I Do Not Find Inspiration In Sadness

Rating: 4.8

I do not find inspiration in sadness,
it does not dwell in my pen.

Nor does it thrive inside a broken heart
and won't walk me through the grief.
It brings a flood of tears, drowning the paper
and wipes thoughts into smudges.

No, I don't find inspiration in darkness,
it does not liberate my muse.
Instead will freeze the ink, and evaporate
what's already written into nothingness.

It is a bird, wounded and dying,
faraway and out of reach.

I do not have a friend in Inspiration,
it is a flower blooming in spring,
and withers away
as times get colder.

Insight utterances set aside for honest reflection. Beautiful poem well articulated and nicely penned with conviction. Thanks for sharing Bridget.
