I Do Not Regret Poem by Randy McClave

I Do Not Regret

I do not regret for wearing a mask
Even when no one did ask,
I do not regret taking a shot or a pill
So, someone else because of me would not get Ill.
I do not mind standing 6 feet behind
When I stand in any store's line,
Not wearing a mask I will not make that blunder
Because, I don't want to get sick and then be lying 6 feet under.
You notice these people that constantly smoke
They don't care that from it you and I do choke,
Though they think that they know the answer
They don't even care if because of them, that we get cancer.
I know that because of my belief someone didn't get sick
That is why in my arm a needle gave me a prick,
And I wear a mask because of the very same reason
I want everyone to survive another season.
When you see me wearing a mask it means I worry about you
That's why I did the things that I do,
Even though some might say the doctors are all lying
They might be, but I don't want you sick, so I am trying.
I would hate to think that someone got sick or died because of me
For my forgiveness I would hope that God would hear my plea,
I never want anyone's death on my heart or soul
When I know that preventing it should had been my ultimate goal.
So, before I leave my house your already in my thoughts
That's why I went to the hospital and took those shots,
And when you look upon me wearing a face cover
You will not see a hater, but a true life lover.
