I Don't Remember Faces Poem by Kelvin Rush

I Don't Remember Faces

Everyone's a stranger wherever I go
I don't recognise anyone I just don't know
I recognise animals colours and places
But honestly for the life of me I don't remember faces

I can dream and reminisce until the cows come home
Break away from the mist talk for hours on the phone
Memorise the alphabet and recite the Blaydon Races
But honestly for the life of me I don't remember faces

Should we ever meet sometime please give me a clue
Don't play games call out your name tell a joke or two
I won't be rude or ignorant I have no airs and graces
But honestly for the life of me I don't remember faces
