I Don't Know Poem by Jinnuraine Jaigirdar

I Don't Know

I don't know, my friend,
how much I have worshipped;
Why don't you understand, life has crunched,
I have received a gift of age, my back is hunched;
My shoulder has become the burden of knowledge,
Money, wealth and power is at my back haulage;
Do you understand that trend?
My old friend!

Don't you know how much time amassed?
Faster than life has passed!
My words are not heard amongst you anymore,
Life goes on, in the longest shore;
Dementia is getting involved, A lot of things devolved;
When I put my hands in the memory lane,
Everything I see, lost in the water in vain;
So, in my graveyard please do write, 'The friend forgotten in the life, out of mind'.

Poem that stirred my emotions having a loved one experiencing dementia at the moment. We need to always remember the elderly and respect and honour them.
