I Fear You Innocent Devotion Poem by Ehsan Ehsan

I Fear You Innocent Devotion

I FEAR YOUR INNOCENT DEVOTION
I fear you innocent devotion my dearest grand-daughter
I know you remember well, how you used to ride
My back and my shoulders with pastries in your mouth
It would also be fresh in your mind how you used to sit
On the front seat of my cycle which I specially got for you
And you paid your complement to the Babas who
Met you on the way and the loving caressing they made
To your young soul and innocent childhood
Now my dear you have got young, not quite grown up
And you are returning all my love every moment
You are now enhancing that pleasure which you enjoyed
I know that I need back all the love and those kisses
Because those are the major source of my joy in old age
Yet I fear your innocent devotion because one day
You would have to leave this home, the loving home
And go to somewhere else which we don't know yet
And like all the girls you would have to reestablish yourself
Among the new people and the newer place
Where the entire set up and the whole atmosphere
May be altogether new and so different
Where you would have to change yourself altogether
Where there would not be so much love and caressing
In such a situation you may not be surprised and disturbed
Missing there that love which you enjoyed here
In the home of your parents and you grand father
Therefore, restrain my dear and suppress your love
For true to say my child, I fear your innocent devotion!
