I Give Thanks Poem by Gary James Smith

I Give Thanks

Rating: 5.0

I Give Thanks

I give thanks for the smallest of things
That's the joy of the Lord in me
He says to give thanks in everything
I try to do that most faithfully
Thank you Lord always comes from these lips
Yes I'm guilty of thankfulness
O what a Saviour to be thankful for
Who died for my sin no less

I'm always on the lookout for
Something to be thankful about
And sometimes when I'm touched by the goodness of God
Hallelujah I just want to shout
O He is amazing...amazing I say
To watch over little old me
But I know in my heart He's an ever present God
How I praise Him for Calvary!

With a love that is hankering to deliver us from sin
My God has a bountiful supply
Of grace and mercy and forgiveness to extend
When He feels the ache of our cry
O what a thankful heart He has made
Upon my repentance day
When I saw my sin in the light of His Word
My thanksgiving Spirit would stay! ! !

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
