I Have A Solace In My Heart Poem by Gert Strydom

I Have A Solace In My Heart

I have a solace in my heart,
a place that’s only mine
where cool breezes blow
and I can be,
forever under a hot African sun
set in a pure blue sky.

Birds and bees swish to and fro
and everywhere there’s
red, blue, yellow and white flowers
and green bushes and trees
and in that place
I am totally free
and totally me.
