I have had bad people around me frequently.
And walked a different road, often weary
I have had a few people try to kill me.
But I just spat in their eyes.
And went on my way.
A different road, I recall
A different way is all the same way repeatedly.
It made me mad how often I'd be living my dreams.
Broken dreams ripped at the seams.
I have had bad people around me repeatedly.
And walked a different road, often weary
Picking myself up from the ground
Sometimes this could take ages.
But there are killers on all the tabloid pages.
Thieves of every low-high distinction
Ready to steal you of even your meanness
The strength to survive
And the courage not to quit, give in, and die.
I have had bad people around me frequently.
And walked a different road, often weary
And that's the way it must always be.
If you don't want to fall at the first hurdle
That's the way it must always be.
From the cradle to the grave
So maybe you need to be bad at times.
If you are to exist with gutter snipes and rats
And persist in enduring their love in your soul.
