I have thrown words beloved,
thrown words at thy feet,
tried to comfort and blanket thee
with verses complete
tried to wrap me
in words of meadowsweet.

I have tried beloved
to express my love to thee,
tried to be at thy side
but life with its challenges
sent me far and wide
and sometime only in my mind
I still see your sweet image,
scent your smell, touch your lips
and have you here with me
and I still love thee sincerely.
