I Hear It Singing In My Heart Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Hear It Singing In My Heart

I hear It singing in my heart
turned to echoes after Alast.
Golden dreams from the beginning
Music currents through the heart.
Cool and pure kisses on my forehead
from the spirit of all the living—
and apparently nonliving
I hear that spirit laugh as it casts a spell
from the depths where none but it dwells.
It whispers confidently in my ear
so close that I could smell its presence.
No need to run after shadows,
It is present in all hues and designs
I can't hide from it in darkness
As and when I tried to turn
the other way
His callback voices demanded
I should stay in its presence
Panic struck as I realized
I was it, the great spirit, just in disguise.
