I Hope For To Live For As Long As I Can - Poem by Francis Duggan

I hope for to live for as long as I can
And to die without pain as a very old man
Who would wish to die slowly and feeling quite sick
I hope the Reaper claims the life from me quick
Many I went to school with now with the dead lay
I feel happy to be living and healthy today
Though to the scythe of the Reaper I'll eventually fall
Since we are born to die and death is for us all
Success is an often used word in the Human World of today
But one has to ask what does it mean anyway
Since many through ruthlessness known to succeed
They were born into life with the bad gene of greed
To die in my nineties of any pain free
That would be enough for to satisfy me.
