I lay you to rest,
You, that always listened to my worries,
You that always knew of my dreams,
You that took me in as a little girl,
And turned me into, what now is me.
I called you mama,
That is what you were for me,
You took away many worries,
When I had those awful dreams,
My life was made pleasant,
And taught me so many things.
I learned to sew and cook,
I did all these things with you,
As a teenager with many changes,
You were able to guide me,
You knew about my first boyfriend,
You knew about my first kiss.
And, then I became a woman,
It was difficult for me,
always with your guidance,
It all became a breeze,
You were there when my children were born;
You were always there for me.
And now I lay you to rest,
With the Lord now you will be,
I will miss you very dearly,
Mama, I will miss you very much,
You my beautiful angel!
Forever will live in my heart.

And now you are gone. Taken from us all by that most horrible of all diseases. I was your first boy friend. Mine were the lips that were priveleged to kiss you first. And now my heart will always be broken. Adios amor.
