I Like The People Poem by Francis Duggan

I Like The People

I like the people who do not compete
With others for to be the best on their street
Who do not tell others of how great they are
And on the success ladder of how they have climbed far

The people not into self promotion in any sort of a way
Who of their own lives does have little to say
Their own praises you never do hear them sing
Which in them is quite an admirable thing

That self praise is no praise i believe to be true
Just leave it to others to praise you if you feel praise is your due
A gift to those who possess it known as humility
Of the humble we need more would you not agree.

I like the people of self promotion who does not carry the flag
Of how good they are they never do brag
In the World far too many of self promoters indeed
Of the humble of mind of more we are in need.
