I Live In A City As Great Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Live In A City As Great

I LIVE IN A CITY/ AS GREAT

I live in a city
As great as holy as conflicted
As history itself
Many years have I lived here
And little have I written about it-
Much greater than me
Have written here Holy Books for mankind here-
Generations of Jews
Prayed to live here-
I have been blessed
The city will always be too great for me
But I hope to live here to the end of my life.
