This poem is different from the others I've read, in no particular order. because the speaker is revealing passivity in her image of the untethered boat. The speaker is making no effort to save her/himself. It's almost as if the poem is like a secular prayer, hoping against hope someone will intervene. But the speaker's passivity could be off-putting. But this just a vignette. The poem would have to be longer to give us a sense of further possibilities.
