I Long To Escape This Frame Of Flesh And Bone Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Long To Escape This Frame Of Flesh And Bone

I long to escape this frame of flesh and bone,
For earthly charms have never held my gaze.
Beguiling nafs, with tempting whispers shown,
I heed not, though tangled in your maze.

To break free from your snares, I yearn each day,
A call to seek my roots, divine and pure.
In Alast's covenant, my path, my way,
A destiny my soul must now secure.

My essence, veiled by mortal, fragile frame,
Reveals a truth that lies beyond the seen.
An ethereal self, untouched by shame,
Yearns to pursue what's noble and serene.

Earth's fleeting lures mean nothing to my heart,
As I forsake the nafs, its hollow cries.
Misleading paths shall not tear me apart,
For hell awaits those led by such disguise.

To follow divine wisdom is my quest,
And leave the nafs' insidious calls behind.
In intellect and spirit, I find rest,
A higher truth, where soul and mind are twined.
