I Lost Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

I Lost

I lost

For punching the paper
I pulled the drawer
Possibly it was bed
For cockroach…

Woke or warned?
Like people in Yemen, Syria
Insect felt the drones…

Scared and wanting life,
The cockroach chose to run
We raced in it to live, I to kill
Cockroach won.
