I Lost The Sun Today Poem by Etienne Charilaou

I Lost The Sun Today

Rating: 5.0

I lost the sun today.
I blame social media.
But who is to blame here?

I had decided on a short while
but as the time approached for me to go -
I said, 'A while longer, and then I'll
take my leave.'

And so from the late morn to the late afternoon
my time was spent writing on engrossing topics.
I'm happy for the practise but
the sun and reading were displaced
by activity in the cold of a room.

What a fool resides here!
Why can't it be stopped?
What drives my behaviour?
I think loneliness perhaps
but there may be more.

I think I may not be the only one.
The digital age - such opportunity, such rage!
Foolishness while loading a web page.
